Over 550,000 students start new school year.

In this new school year, there are 758 schools across the province (up 11 compared to last school year). This year's enrolment:

As for pre-school level, it includes 99,076 students, including 15,288 kindergarten pupils and 83,788 nursery school education students (up nearly 12,000 students). As for primary school level, there are 196,540 students (down 1,955 students compared to last year) including 38,557 students selected for grade 1. As for junior secondary education, there are 165,603 students (up 3,208 students) including 39,700 students selected for grade 6. As for senior secondary education, there are 85,342 students (7,487 students) including 39,706 students selected for grade 10. As for continuing education students, it is estimated at 15,903. As for teaching staff, the education sector has got 27,815 managers, teachers, and employees. Pre-school level has hot the highest enrollment with over 10,000 students.

The total number of schools throughout the province reaching national standard is 61. As planned for 2008-2009 school year, the provincial education sector will try to upgrade schools so that 69 more schools will be acknowledged to reach national standard, raising the total to 130.

It was decided that the education sector would promote information technology application, renovate financial management, and deploy construction of friendly schools and active students in 2007-2008 new school year, which all is very important and will be deployed simultaneously.

As reported from the school, the students’ learning achievements in 2007-2008 school year can show clearly the school’s teaching with 395 excellent students (making up 29.48%), 835 good and fair students (making up 62.31%). By the end of the last school year, 1,300 the school’s students were offered certificates of good behavior (making up 97.02%). In the last high school graduation examination, the graduation exam pass rate of the school was 99.75% (the highest rate of the province), with 15.78% students with excellent and good level. 

In the provincial contest for excellent grade 12 students in 2007-2008 school year, the school has got 40 awards (three first prizes, 5 second prizes, 15 third prizes, 17 consolation prizes). Particularly, the school has got 2 students winning second prize and consolation prize for History in the National Excellent Contest. In the last university entrance exam, the school has got one student winning first laureate in Nong Lam university entrance exam and one student winning second laureate in entrance exam of University of Technical Education Ho Chi Minh city. 

In this new school year, teachers and students of Ngo Quyen High School express their high determination to implement general education reform programme and mobilization moments entitled “ Study and Follow Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example”, “ Say no to negative phenomena and exaggerated achievements in education”, Two Nos” as well as a new school year with slogan “ a new school year of information technology application, financial management reform, and deployment of movement entitled “ Friendly School, Active Students”.  

On this occasion, Sacombank granted 29 scholarships to financially-poor-but-brilliant students. Students passing university entrance exam with high results were granted scholarships and presents by the school and Asssociation for Development of Human Resources And Talents of Dongnai province.

 In this school year, all officials, teachers, and students of Le Hong Phong Semi-Public School expressed high determination to accomplish higher achievements, continue to implement the movement entitled “Two Nos” so that the school’s quality teaching is real. Additionally, the school continues to promote the mobilization movement entitled “ Study And Follow Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example”, “Every Teacher Is A Bright Example Of Creativeness And  Self-Teaching”, which contributes to improvement of way of working, teaching, studying of the school’s cadres, teachers, and employees as well as all students.

In the first school year of the school, Le Quang Dinh Junior High school has got enrollment of over 400 students for grade 10. As for grade 7 and 8, students selected were excellent students from other schools. As for grade 6, nearly 600 students were selected from students graduating from primary schools. As for teaching staff, there are 33 teachers, which can be enough to serve teaching subjects. However, because school’s facilities have been in completion process, its teachers and students have to give lessons and study temporarily in Ly Thuong Kiet Primary school.

* Also on September 4 morning, Ngoc Dinh Junior High School, Dinh Quan District that has just been finished building held new school year ceremony. 

Ngoc Dinh Junior High School with area of over 1.5 hectares has just been finished building with cost of nearly US$1 million, which was funded by a patron in the locality. The school’s enrollment this year included over 300 students in grade 5.
