Delegation from Province of Kongpong Thom (Cambodia) paid a working visit to Dong Nai

Addressing in the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Mot expressed his gladness to welcome and receive the Delegation from Kongpong Thom Province and confirmed the warm sentiments of Vietnam in general and Dong Nai Province in particular. During 10 years between 1979 and 1989, Dong Nai had appointed 129 experts to Kongpong Thom to assist it with security and national defense and socio-economic stabilization. Chairman Vo Van Mot asserted that the delegation’s visit would mark a new step in the development of the two provinces.

Kongpong Thom Province Leader Nam Tum thanked for the warm welcome and expressed his gratitude to Vietnam’s armed forces and Vietnamese people for helping and assisting Cambodian in saving it from race extinction in the past. Through this visit, he desired for friendly cooperative relations to push the economies of the two provinces forward. He said he knew about the good traditional friendly relation between the two provinces so he himself had a desire to enhance the cooperative relation between Kongpong Thom and Dong Nai. He hoped a number of enterprises from Dong Nai would come, invest and do business in Kongpong Thom.

After listening to general introduction about Dong Nai and reports on Dong Nai’s socio-economic situation in the first 10 months of 2007 and the province’s development orientation to 2010 and the following years, the leader of Kongpong Thom Province was impressed by the achievements gained in the process of socio-economic development in Dong Nai Province. Members of the delegation paid interest in learning about development of industrial zones and Dong Nai’s experience in attracting investment. However, with the current development situation of Cambodia, the delegation gave a special attention to Dong Nai’s experience in developing agriculture and industry.  The delegation hope to cooperate with Dong Nai to develop cultivation and breeding in the direction of production of exported goods

In the working session, Secretary of the Party’s Committee Tran Dinh Thanh agreed that the two sides would strengthen the friendly cooperative relation and Dong Nai would pay an official visit to Kongpong Thom to have specific co-operations. The Secretary also shared some of Dong Nai’s experience in socio-economic development, especially that in attracting investment, providing jobs, establishing high-quality intensive farming regions and so on

During the working visit to Dong Nai (from October 29 to October 3), the delegation will tour Tran Bien Temple of Literature, Buu Long tourist area, Vuon Xoai farm, Amata Industrial Park and so on
