​Vietnam images to be promoted in Italia

During the meeting with Turin’s mayor, Mr. Piero Fassino, ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long thanked Mr Piero Fassino for his personal interest as well as the collective appreciation of Turin’s people and citizens Piedmont region towards Viet Nam; for the precious support of Turin’s people towards Viet Nam during the time of struggle for independence in the past and the national development at the present. The ambassador also expressed the hope to develop the relationship with Turin in all aspects such as technology, science, economy, culture, education and also confirmed that it Vietnam prioritizes to establish the relationship with Turin on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relation between the two countries.

 

Mr Fassino also expressed the wish for closer connection with Viet Nam. He recalled good memories and feelings, binding the people of Turin and Piedmont region with those of Viet Nam, especially during the time Vietnamese people were striving for independence and unity. Mayor Fassino also said that he affectionately adored Viet Nam very much and had visited Viet Nam many times before as the Italian Minister of of Justice, Minister of Trading.

 

Mayor Fassino emphasized that Turin and its people always support the development of relationship with Viet Nam in terms of economy, culture and education. Turin will actively collaborate with Viet Nam to organize all the coming events in this city, on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between the two countries. In details, Turin will cooperate with Viet Nam to organize the “Vietnamese week in Turin” in September 2013; hold the Vietnamese art performance in the framework of the Turi – Milan international music festival 2013; organize the exhibitions with the theme of Vietnam and its people in an important museum in Turin as well as programs to promote trade and investment in Vietnam in this city.

 

Turin city and Piedmont region are among many industrially, culturally and educationally rich and developed territories of Italia. This city and region is a place for many big corporations to operate their business such as the Intesa SanPaolo bank, Fiat… Turin is also one of the leading localities in terms of relationship with Vietnam; and it is also the place where the Vietnam research facility is located, as well as the first location to implement the education about Vietnamese culture. Besides, the Vietnam consulate of honor also is located here, greatly contributing to the promotion of Vietnam reputation as well as images of Uncle Ho to local citizens for a long time.
