Nearly 24.5 billion dong budgeted for "Improving the quality of our race" for the period of 2011-2015

After the first 6 months, the provincial population and family planning work achieved certain results. Accordingly, There were 19 944 children born in the province, marking an increase by more than 1,500 children over the same period in 2011. Some other evidences indicated that family planning met and exceeded the target of the year plan, such as: 220 new people were encouraged to stop giving birth (equal to over 53%), over 67 thousand people used oral contraceptives ( equal to over 112%), almost 80 thousand people used condoms ( equal to over 106%). Besides, the deployment of the campaign phase 1 in 120 communes, wards and towns as plan by the Central and province achieved satisfactory results both in terms of family planning service packs and service packs of reproductive tract infection prevention.

 

At the conference, Deputy Director of  Health  Department Huynh Cao Hai has developed content of the population  strategy  to 2015, in order to maintain a solid trend of fertility reduction, reduction of the incidence of having three or more children, population scale control at a reasonable level, population quality improvement, reproductive health improvement, the solution of problems of population structure and distribution, contributing to the successful implementation of the industrialization and modernization process of the country. From this overall objective, the strategy has been concretized into 11 targets and 17 specific indicators through 7 solution groups. This strategy will be coordinately implemented by departments and relevant sectors and leaded by the Department of Health which gives advice for to the Provincial Party Committee for implementation.

 

Also at the conference, participants also listened to the content of the project "Improving the quality of our race (screening) in the province for the period of 2011-2015. Aimed at improving the quality of Dong Nai population physically, intellectually and spiritually to ensure high-quality human resources meeting requirements of  industrialization and modernization and sustainable development of the region and the country; within the framework of population and family planning program, this project will focus on implementing three projects, including: consultancy and pre-marriage health check project, antenatal and neonatal screening  scheme; interventions to reduce gender imbalances at birth. It is known that this project with a total cost of nearly 24.5 billion dong (of which central funding is over 17.9 billion, the rest is funded by the province) was approved by the provincial People's Committee.
