Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the locality in the first six months of 2013 (according to the comparison price in 1994) reached 42.4 % of the plan, increasing 10.7% as compared with the same period. This includes industry – construction increase of 10.8% over the same period, service increase of 12% over the same period, agriculture – forestry – aquaculture increase of 3.4% over the same period.
1. Economy:
- Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased by 7% as compared with the same period.
- The total value of agriculture – forestry – aquaculture production reached 4,147 billion dong, increasing by 3.5% as compared with the same period. By May 10th, 2013, the total area of winter – spring crop has been 39,452 ha, increasing 4.9% over the same period and the total area of summer – fall crop has been 24,705 ha, equivalent to 3,3% % over the same period.
- Central budget contribution was 43% of estimates for the whole year, increasing 9% over the same period.
- Export turnover enjoyed 45.2% of the plan for the whole year, 4% higher than that of the same period. Import turnover was 45.5% of the plan, increasing by 5.6% over the same period.
- The total retail sales of goods obtained 47% of the plan, increasing by 13.5% over the same period.
- Consumption Price Index of May, 2013 decreased by 0.15% as compared with that in April of 2013 and increased 1.15% and 4.52% as compared with that of December of 2012 and May of 2012, respectively. The price of gold in May of 2013 decreased by 7.8% ,11.7% and 8.4% as compared with that in April of 2013, December of 2012 and over the same period, respectively. US Dollar Index in May of 2013 increased by 0.07%, 0.27% as compared with that of April of 2013 and December of 2012, respectively but decreased 0.04% over the same period.
- Freight transport: the volume of freight increased 7.8% in transport and 8% in rotation over the same period.
- Passenger transport: increased 8.5% in transport and 8.9% in rotation as compared with the same period.
- By June 30th, 2013, locally mobilized capital of bank gained 84,458 billion dong, increasing 6.6% as compared with December 31st, 2012. The total balance by the end of June in 2013 reached 71,880 billion dong, 6.2% higher than that of December 31st, 2012.
- The total investment amount for the locality development achieved 51.4% of the plan, increasing by 22% over the same period.
- The total newly granted capital and FDI project reached $ 600 million, accounting for 66.7% of the plan and 65.5% of that in the same period last year. The disbursement amount gained $500 million.
- The total domestic investment achieved 4,000 billion, accounting for 47% as compared with plan, equivalent to 62% of that of the same period.
- The total registered capital of enterprise was 5,176 billion dong (including newly registered and additional capital), accounting for 58% of the plan and 91% of that in the same period. Among new registered enterprises, 988 established with the total registered capital of 3,415 billion dong and 103 registered additional capital with the total additional capital of 1,761 billion dong.
2. Society and culture:
- Organized many culture and sport activities to celebrate major holidays: 83 year Anniversary of Vietnamese Communist Party Foundation, 38 year Anniversary of The South Revolution and Country Reunion, 117 year Anniversary of May Day, Communist Party Anniversary Celebration and 2014 Spring Welcome, etc.
- Prepared and held the Secondary School Leaving Examination in 2013 successfully.
- Guided to perform disease and epidemic prevention and food hygiene and safety around the province. Attracting and allocating doctors to work in the locality have been enhanced, focusing on providing local wards and communes with doctors.
- Over the first 6 months: Created new jobs for 51,641 employees, making up for 57.4% of plan, increasing 1% over the same period. And 32,160 people were recruited and trained professionally, accounting for 51.3% of the plan and decreasing 9.3% over the same period.
- Poverty reduction: in the first six months, provided 2,000 households with loans, accounting for 50% of the plan for whole year and 80% of that in the same period and achieving 30 billion dong.
- Training and retraining cadres and State officers is improved; the quality and knowledge and skill level of human resource gradually are enhanced in Government agencies around the province.
