Currently, the contractor consortium has mobilized more than 755 engineers and workers along with 153 vehicles and pieces of equipment for the construction of this package. The value of completed work has reached nearly 1.1 trillion VND, and the value of materials stockpiled at the site is approximately 300 billion VND.
Regarding the main items of the package, for the runway, the contractor has completed 100% of the subgrade works, K98 compacted sand, and K98 crushed stone base; the 150/25 cement concrete structure has reached 98% and the 350/45 cement concrete structure has reached 83%. For the taxiway item, 100% of the subgrade works, K98 compacted sand, and K98 crushed stone base have been completed; the 150/25 cement concrete structure has reached 85% and the 350/45 cement concrete structure has reached 30%.
Package 4.12 has a total contract value of over 2.5 trillion VND and commenced construction in late June 2025.
In March 2025, the Prime Minister approved the adjustment of the Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1. This included approving the adjustment and addition of building a second runway in Phase 1 of the project. Previously, in mid-2024, ACV submitted a report to relevant agencies proposing to build a second runway in Phase 1 of the Long Thanh Airport Project. This proposal was based on ACV's calculations regarding the take-off and landing demand to serve Terminal T1 with a capacity of 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo per year. Additionally, the availability of two runways is considered essential to ensure operational redundancy in case one runway encounters technical issues—an important requirement for a high-capacity airport.

The second runway measures 4 kilometers in length and 75 meters in width. Previously, the first runway under Phase 1 of Long Thanh Airport project was completed and technically operational by the end of April 2025, three months ahead of schedule.
