At the session, delegates reviewed Submission No. 45/TTr-UBND dated March 25, 2026, from the Provincial People’s Committee, along with a verification report from the Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People’s Council and deputies’ opinions. The Provincial People’s Council reached a high level of consensus in adopting the recognition of Dong Nai province as
meeting the criteria of a Type I urban area. The approval marks a strategic milestone, grounded in the 2025 Law on the Organization of Local Government and newly issued resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on urban classification and administrative unit
standards. Notably, it provides a crucial legal and practical foundation for implementing the Party Central Committee’s conclusion on the establishment of Dong Nai as a centrally governed city.

Regarding implementation, the Provincial People’s Committee has been tasked with urgently completing all required dossiers and documents in accordance with legal regulations for submission to competent authorities for review and decision-making. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, its boards, groups of deputies, and the Provincial People's
Council deputies are assigned to closely supervise the implementation of the resolution.
At the same time, the Provincial People's Council has called on the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province to participate in supervision and mobilize public involvement in monitoring efforts, ensuring that citizens’ opinions, aspirations, and recommendations are promptly conveyed to competent authorities.
The resolution takes effect from the date of its adoption.
