(News Portal – Dong Nai) – This was the request made by the Central Party Committee Member and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Hong Linh, at the conference on training the workforce for the operation of Long Thanh International Airport. The conference was organized by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on March 13.

The conference was attended by comrades Vo Tan Duc, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, provincial leaders, experts, representatives from the Southern Airports Authority, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), academies, universities, colleges, and local authorities within the province.
According to ACV, Long Thanh Airport is planned to be the largest airport in the country, classified as a 4F airport (according to the classification of the International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO), serving as a transit hub in the Southeast Asia region, competing with major airports worldwide.

In addition to construction investment, the operation and management work aims to fully integrate infrastructure, technology systems, standard procedures, and a skilled workforce, which plays a crucial role in determining the project's investment efficiency. According to data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Long Thanh Airport will require nearly 14,000 workers.
During the conference, leaders of specialized agencies, experts, representatives from academies, universities, and colleges shared their requirements and capabilities in training the workforce to serve the operation of Long Thanh Airport Phase 1.
According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vo Tan Duc, Long Thanh Airport Phase 1 is expected to commence operations in 2026. Therefore, preparations, especially high-quality workforce training, must be initiated from now. Aviation personnel are a specialized profession with requirements for security and safety, yet there is currently no aviation-specific training institution in the province. Based on this reality, Dong Nai has agreed to implement a human resources development plan to serve Long Thanh Airport. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vo Tan Duc, assigned the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to take the lead, coordinate with relevant units to develop the plan, incorporating feedback from experts and scientists at the conference.

In conclusion, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Hong Linh, emphasized the importance of preparing the workforce for both Long Thanh Airport and the Long Thanh urban area. The workforce must possess high-quality skills.
Regarding the preparation of the workforce to serve the operations of Long Thanh Airport, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Hong Linh, specifically highlighted the need to provide opportunities for local residents, especially those in Long Thanh district. These are the people who have contributed their land and made sacrifices to build the airport. The prosperity of this area must correspond to the development of its residents. It is unacceptable for Long Thanh Airport to develop while the local youth remain unemployed due to a lack of training, vocational education, and employment opportunities.

of workforce for Long Thanh Airport right in Dong Nai province. To enhance the
quality of the workforce, it is necessary to focus on collaboration in
training. Encouraging local universities to collaborate with specialized
aviation universities to establish departments and majors for aviation training
will not only improve the quality but also the quantity of training.
When it comes to airport personnel, attention must be given to language
proficiency, cultural understanding, and a friendly demeanor. The Party
Executive Committee and the Provincial People's Committee will establish
connections with ACV and the Southern Airports Authority to enhance transparency
in workforce information, recruitment, and training for Long Thanh Airport.
