In 2024, Dong Nai conducted two rounds of OCOP product evaluations. As a result, the province recognized 109 products from 64 stakeholders as OCOP-certified, including 94 newly evaluated products and 15 re-evaluated products. Among the 94 new OCOP products in 2024, 79 achieved 3-star OCOP certification, exceeding the plan by 247%, while 15 products achieved 4-star OCOP certification, reaching 150% of the target. To date, the province has a total of 282 OCOP-certified products from 165 stakeholders. Notably, nine products with potential for 5-star national OCOP certification are currently under review and awaiting certification.

A highlight of the OCOP Program in 2024 is the continued focus on promotional efforts, which have helped shift perceptions among both producers and consumers. The program has had a positive impact on agricultural production, tapping into the potential and strengths of local specialties, raw material areas, and labor resources in various localities. OCOP stakeholders have focused on standardizing product quality and packaging designs, earning trust and positive feedback from many consumers.

However, the OCOP Program still faces some limitations. Most stakeholders remain satisfied with achieving 3-star OCOP certification and have not made sufficient efforts to upgrade and improve product quality and packaging designs. Additionally, they struggle to adapt to modern distribution channels and quality management standards such as ISO and HACCP.

In 2025, the OCOP Program will continue to focus on promotional activities to maximize the cultural and local specialty values for developing OCOP products in the rural tourism category. Activities will also be launched to promote the consumption of OCOP products along tourist routes. The province will intensify efforts in digital transformation for managing the OCOP Program, including developing software for managing and evaluating product rankings. The agricultural sector will collaborate with relevant departments, agencies, and localities to prioritize planning and developing raw material sources. High technology, processing industries, and post-harvest preservation technologies will be applied to ensure sustainable OCOP product development. The program will also support OCOP stakeholders in brand development, building and managing advanced quality systems, providing guidance on labeling, registering product codes and barcodes, traceability stamps, and geographical indications.
