Dong Nai leads in industrial development

From a single industrial park (IZ) before the liberation day, up to now, Dong Nai has 34 industrial zones planned with a total area of over 12,000 ha, of which there are 31 ones have been put into operation. Currently, Dong Nai is one of the industrial development models of the country.

Attraction for manufacturing businesses

Infrastructure companies have invested nearly 750 million USD in building infrastructure works. Some industrial zones such as Amata, Bien Hoa 2, Nhon Trach 3, Long Duc are national models in infrastructure construction as well as in investment attracting. Dong Nai's industrial zones have filled about 82%, many large corporations from Europe, America, Korea, Taiwan, Japan such as Pouchen, CP, Phong Thai, Formosa, Fujitsu, Philip, Ajinomoto, Zamil Steel, Shell, Syngenta, Bosch… are present. The fast and sustainable development of Dong Nai industrial zones today is the result of a methodical and creative process of management, administration and investment promotion. Including of solutions on administrative reform, creating favorable conditions for investors with the motto that the government accompanies with businesses.

Until April 2021, the province's industrial zones have attracted 1,363 FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than 27 billion USD. There are 1,202 projects in operation with a total registered capital of more than 24.4 billion USD; 83 projects are under construction with registered capital of more than 2 billion USD; 33 projects have not yet started construction with registered capital of 395 million USD.

Besides the achievements in foreign investment attracting, the development of domestic enterprises has also achieved positive results. Dong Nai had only 115 state-owned enterprises and 2,101 handicraft production establishments in 1985, there are over 27,000 operating enterprises in whole province in 2020. The focus on supporting the development of domestic enterprises is always focused in order to contribute to improving the value of industrial production, increasing of export turnover, and at the same time participating in effectively solving of social problems such as creating of jobs, poverty reduction …

Big contribution to the budget

In fact, industrial zones have created a huge output of goods for domestic consumption and export. The total revenue of industrial zones in the period 1995-2000 reached over USD 5.6 billion and increased over USD 20 billion in 2020. Besides increasing in goods, IPs also contribute more and more to the state budget. If in 1997, industrial zones contributed 21 million USD to the budget, it increased to 235 million USD in 2005, it was 350 million USD in 2010, account 36% of the total budget revenue in the area. In 2020, industrial zones contributed over 940 million USD to the state budget…The promotion of economic restructuring in the direction of rapidly increasing the proportion of industry, services and industry is the environment for Dong Nai to approach and gradually improve the level of science and technology, as well as experience in the production management organization.
