The Vietnam Expressway Development Investment Corporation (VEC) said there were 16.1 million vehicles entering the HCM City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway in 2020.
In the past year, due to the impact of COVID-19, the number of vehicles on this route compared to 2019 (down 4 thousand vehicles). VEC has proactively implemented strictly disease prevention and control measures; prevent disease from contagious with good practice of 5K message (in Vietnamese): Khau trang (Facemask) - Khu khuan (Disinfection) - Khoang cach (Distance) - (Khong tu tap (No gathering) - Khai bao y te (Health declaration).
For traffic safety assurance, the situation of vehicles stopping and parked improperly on expressway has significantly improved recently. Functional forces also actively propagated and enforced the dismantlement of illegally opened shops along the two sides of the expressway. However, there are still vehicles going in the opposite direction on expressway, passing the station or changing the license plate to evade fees, etc. In 2021, VEC will strengthen coordination with functional forces to strengthen inspection and handling of these violations.
