Consumer Price Index (CPI) Rises by 0.59 Percent

According to Dong Nai People’s Committee, the CPI in September, 2010 rises by 0.59 percent over that in August, up 5.67 percent compared to December, 2009.

The CPI goes up due to an increase in commercial activities and services over the same period.

Specifically, September’s total retail sales hit VND37.78 trillion (US$1.93 billion) accounting for 66 percent according to plan targets, up 25.6 percent over the same period.

In particular, Commerce, Hotel-Restaurant, Services and Travel increase by 25.2 percent, 32.1 percent, 24.2 percent and 27.8 percent over the same period, respectively.
