Through financial assistance, technology transfer, digital transformation, and the promotion of effective production models, the associations are helping farmers adopt new mindsets, enhance agricultural value and prepare for stronger growth in the second half of 2026.
Supporting farmers to develop production
From specialized fruit-growing regions and concentrated livestock farming to high-tech agricultural models, farmers in Dong Nai are steadily transforming their cultivation methods toward commercial, safe and sustainable agriculture, improving both added value and the competitiveness of local agricultural products. Behind these positive changes is the consistent support of the Farmers' Associations through practical initiatives tailored to members' needs.

One notable example is the digital transformation program in Phuoc Son Commune. According to Hoang Van Dinh, Chairman of the commune's Farmers' Association, digital transformation is no longer a story for the future but has become part of every daily task performed by officials and farmer members. In the first six months of 2026, the association maintained 28 Zalo groups connecting the commune-level association with its 26 grassroots chapters, established a Farmers' Digital Transformation Club with 26 members and regularly posted news, articles, photos and videos on its Facebook page and other digital platforms to support communications efforts, helping spread effective farming models and the association's policies.
The association has also begun applying artificial intelligence (AI) to its operations and has collaborated to deploy farm management software to support local durian growers.
If digital transformation opens new development opportunities, capital is the "lever" that enables many farming households to invest confidently in production. According to Nguyen Xuan Thoi, Chairman of the Dau Giay Ward Farmers' Association, the association has recently effectively used support capital to help members develop their household economies. Following a careful review process, the association coordinated the preparation of applications and created favorable conditions for dozens of members to access loans for investment in cattle raising, fruit cultivation under VietGAP standards, and sustainable production models. In the first six months of the year, 26 members received loans totaling VND 2.1 billion.
According to Nguyen Xuan Thoi, the goal is not limited to disbursement; it also includes ensuring that the capital is used for the right purposes, improving the quality of agricultural products, ensuring food safety, and creating stable income for local people.
During the first six months of 2026, the Dong Nai City Farmers' Association exceeded seven of its sixteen performance targets assigned by the Vietnam Farmers' Association, including more than 160 percent of its communication target, 114 percent of its grassroots operating fund target, and over 104 percent growth in the Farmers' Support Fund.
In addition, developing linkage models among farmers with excellent production and business performance is also generating strong momentum for development at the grassroots level. According to Nguyen Van Kien, Chairman of the Tan Quan Commune Farmers' Association, the locality has established an Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business Club with 15 members active in various fields, including jackfruit, durian and mulberry cultivation, as well as livestock farming. Its members have promoted the spirit of daring to think and daring to act, actively shifting crop and livestock structures to suit actual conditions, and confidently applying scientific and technical advances in production. As a result, the average annual income has exceeded VND 400 million per person. Many models have generated annual revenue ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of VND. In addition to improving their own family livelihoods, members also create regular and seasonal jobs for many local workers, helping raise incomes and improve the lives of rural people.
Building momentum for the next stage of development
According to Nguyen Van Giang, Vice Chairman in charge of the Dong Nai City Farmers' Association, the association's work and farmers' movements were carried out in a coordinated and effective manner during the first six months of the year. Communications, mobilization, and association organization-building continued to see many innovations, while the operational capacity at the association level was gradually improved. Emulation movements and farmer support activities were carried out in practical ways, linked with science and technology transfer, production development, and the mobilization of various resources to accompany members.
The Standing Board of the association has issued numerous documents directing associations at all levels to promote emulation movements, understand members' thoughts and aspirations, and survey demand for linkages in agricultural product consumption, while also encouraging and replicating outstanding production and business models in the area.
Looking ahead, the association has identified the need to continue promoting its central and core role in farmers' movements and new-style rural development. The focus will be on consolidating a strong association organization and building a contingent of officials with sufficient qualities and capacity to meet task requirements. The association will continue to innovate its communications content and methods to be more approachable and effective, tailored to each target group. Digital platforms such as Zalo, Facebook and TikTok will be used more extensively to make communications more effective.
One of the key tasks is to continue the widespread implementation of Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU on launching a special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign "Solidarity - Discipline - Efficiency - Breakthrough" to build a civilized and modern Dong Nai, continuing to maintain and improve implementation quality until 2030, creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere among officials, members, and farmers throughout the city, contributing to building Dong Nai into a civilized, modern and compassionate city.
Nguyen Van Giang said the association will continue working closely with government agencies and businesses to organize technical training, promote scientific and technological innovation, expand successful agricultural models and arrange study visits to exemplary farms to improve farmers' production skills and technology adoption. The association will also strengthen supervision of entrusted loan programs administered by the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies and the Farmers' Support Fund to ensure that financial resources are used effectively.
The City Farmers' Association proactively concretized Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU of the City Party Executive Committee on the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign 'Solidarity - Discipline - Efficiency - Breakthrough' to build a civilized and modern Dong Nai, maintaining and elevating the quality of execution through 2030 via specific plans, models, and tasks. Notable initiatives include the movement of '500 beautiful images - 500 good deeds by Dong Nai farmers'; the 'bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe self-managed farmer road' model; and the consolidation and expansion of Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business Clubs linked with production-consumption value chains and digital transformation. This is the right approach, demonstrating the association's proactive stance in translating the city's political mandates into practical grassroots actions.

In addition, the association will continue to encourage members to participate in cooperatives and cooperative groups and to promote scientific and technological applications, digital transformation, product traceability, brand development and value-chain production linkages.
Through these practical efforts, the Farmers' Associations across Dong Nai continue to affirm their role as trusted partners of local farmers. By embracing innovation, applying modern technologies and strengthening production linkages, the city's agricultural sector is building a stronger foundation for sustainable growth in the years ahead.
