(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the afternoon of May 9, at the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Hoang, along with leaders of departments and agencies, welcomed the Delegation from the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam, led by Mr. Keijo Norvanto - the Finnish Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam.
The delegation included representatives from various corporations and companies such as Nokia, Kone, Helvar, Konecrane, Lindstrom, and Windows Communication Foundation.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Hoang provided the Finnish Ambassador and the Delegation with information on the province's socio-economic situation and foreign investment attraction in Dong Nai. The province is located in the key economic region in the South, approximately 30km from Ho Chi Minh City and 40km from the Thi Vai - Cai Mep port cluster in Ba Ria - Vung Tau. It holds great potential for development in the future. By early 2026, with the operation of Long Thanh International Airport, Dong Nai province will have five modes of transportation, including road, air, rail, inland waterway, and international maritime, creating favorable conditions for strong economic growth at the local level.

Ambassador Keijo Norvanto expressed his impression of Vietnam's overall development and specifically of Dong Nai province in recent years, particularly in the industrial sector. During the working session, representatives from Finnish enterprises also briefly introduced their strengths in various fields such as smart lighting solutions, smart building construction, smart transportation, smart infrastructure, network infrastructure, digital transformation, information and data provision to enhance digitization in different sectors, recycling and water reuse solutions, energy efficiency, and environmental protection. Ambassador Keijo Norvanto expressed a special interest in and a desire to cooperate in the field of education and high-quality human resource training.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Hoang highly appreciated the attention that the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam has given to Dong Nai province. She stated that the province always desires to further strengthen cooperation in economic development and cultural exchange between Dong Nai province and the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam in general, and Finnish partners in particular. She hopes that Ambassador Keijo Norvanto will be an effective bridge to introduce Finnish businesses to explore, conduct business, and invest in the province in the near future.
