Major Advantages of Using Digitalized Documents

(News Portal – Dong Nai) - The integration of personal documents into the VNeID electronic identification application has brought numerous practical benefits to citizens. After a period of implementation, many people appreciate the convenience of electronic documents, which not only save time and simplify administrative procedures but also enhance security and reduce the risk of document loss.

Currently, many important types of documents have been converted into digital formats, enabling users to fully leverage the benefits of technology.

No More Worries About Losing Documents
Nowadays, most people carry smartphones, especially when traveling or handling administrative tasks. Therefore, installing and using the VNeID application to present documents upon request by authorities or when receiving medical treatment under health insurance has become incredibly convenient.

Many important personal documents have been integrated into VNeID, allowing citizens to use digital versions in place of physical documents.

Ms. Vo Kim Dung, a resident of Hung Loc Commune, Thong Nhat District, shared that she used to worry about forgetting to bring her personal documents when dropping off or picking up her children from school. Now, she can simply open the app on her phone to easily present digital versions of her driver's license and vehicle registration when needed.
“When I learned that the VNeID app could replace traditional documents and support citizen identification on a digital platform, I quickly registered for a Level 2 e-identification account and downloaded the app to my phone. Thanks to this, I can integrate various documents such as my citizen ID card, driver's license, health insurance card, and social insurance card—all conveniently stored on my phone!" Ms. Dung shared.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, a resident of Tam Hiep Ward, Bien Hoa City, also praised the usefulness of VNeID. He recalled that although he had downloaded the app long ago, he rarely used it. However, after being involved in a traffic accident and admitted to Dong Nai General Hospital without carrying his documents, he noticed others using VNeID for procedures. He decided to try it and found the app extremely convenient.
“By simply presenting my electronic ID at the registration counter, I was able to register for medical treatment under health insurance without needing a physical card. This is especially helpful for those who frequently visit hospitals or encounter emergencies," Mr. Dung shared.

Presenting Digitalized Driver's Licenses and Vehicle Registrations
Using electronic documents not only enhances convenience but also minimizes the risk of losing or damaging original documents. Currently, many essential documents, such as IDs, driver's licenses, and vehicle registrations, have been digitized, allowing users easy access and use when needed.

The electronic ID card serves multiple functions: it confirms identity and assists citizens in performing administrative transactions and public services online, such as opening bank accounts, handling administrative procedures, or verifying online transactions. This reduces the need to carry multiple physical documents, improves efficiency, and enhances the quality of public services.

Under Circular No. 73/2024/TT-BCA issued by the Ministry of Public Security on November 15, 2024, effective January 1, 2025, information on electronic identification accounts via the VNeID application or the national database is equivalent to physical documents. This means that when checked by authorities, citizens can present their digital driver's licenses and vehicle registrations instead of physical copies as before.

To fully utilize these conveniences, citizens must register for a Level 2 electronic identification account. This registration process cannot be completed independently and requires visiting the local police department or the agency issuing the ID to finalize the procedures. Once important documents are integrated into VNeID, presenting information when needed will become significantly faster and more straightforward.
