The conference covered key topics such as evaluating the progress of tourism development under Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU by the Provincial Party Executive Committee on developing tourism into a vital economic sector, implementing Plan No. 89/KH-UBND by the Provincial People's Committee, and discussing solutions for tourism development in 2025.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the tourism sector in Dong Nai showed signs of recovery and growth over the past year. This was achieved through the determination of the political system and the efforts of tourism service businesses. Investments in upgrading tourism products continued, and several destinations achieved national and international recognition, contributing to increased tourist arrivals and revenue compared to 2023.

Key tourism projects such as the Thac Mai - Bau Nuoc Soi project in Dinh Quan District and the eco-tourism and resort complex in Chua Chan Mountain area in Xuan Loc District received significant attention from provincial authorities. This focus helped resolve challenges and led to positive progress in these projects. Notably, the Tan Phu Forest Protection Management Board and The Coi Joint Stock Company signed a contract for forest environment leasing to develop eco-tourism. This is a significant milestone, marking the first forest environment leasing contract implemented after years of investor preparation.

Additionally, cultural, sports, and tourism events were held more frequently in localities, such as the Ong Pagoda Festival, the “Tri An Ultra Marathon 2024 - Echo of Spring" in Vinh Cuu District, the “Cat Tien Jungle Paths" marathon in Tan Phu District, the Fruit Festival in Long Khanh City, the Bien Hoa Open Half Marathon, the “Heritage Connection Journey" cycling championship, and the International Yoga Day in Dong Nai. These events successfully attracted tourists and promoted Dong Nai's tourism.

In 2024, Dong Nai welcomed over 3.4 million visitors. Of these, domestic tourists accounted for more than 3.3 million, and international visitors exceeded 107,000, a 23.6% increase compared to 2023. Tourism service revenue reached 2.4 trillion VND, a 41% increase compared to 2023.

The conference featured contributions from various departments, sectors, and localities, discussing solutions for enhancing Dong Nai's tourism development.

In his directive speech, Vice Chairman Nguyen Son Hung emphasized the need for departments, sectors, and localities to continue focusing on implementing tourism development tasks as outlined in Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU and Plan No. 89/KH-UBND. He also highlighted the importance of reviewing achievements and outstanding issues, identifying their causes, and proposing appropriate resolutions in compliance with regulations.

The Vice Chairman urged departments to proactively assess challenges and obstacles affecting project timelines, particularly delayed or long-stalled projects. Issues related to administrative procedures for land use must be carefully examined and handled in accordance with legal provisions.

Furthermore, he called for stronger coordination among departments and sectors to ensure overall efficiency and expedite project progress. Any difficulties or issues encountered during the implementation process should be promptly reported to provincial leaders for proper resolution.

In addition to accelerating project timelines, Vice Chairman Nguyen Son Hung reminded all units to prioritize developing tourism while preserving and promoting national cultural identity. He stressed the importance of honoring national heroes and figures through cultural festivals, promoting traditional rituals, and showcasing exemplary role models. Efforts should be made to prevent misguiding public opinion, avoid superstitious practices, and ensure that historical sites, relics, museums, and cultural institutions are not left to deteriorate.

Based on the contributions made during the conference, the Vice Chairman directed departments, sectors, and localities to focus on advancing key projects, such as the eco-tourism and resort project at Chua Chan Mountain in Xuan Loc District, tourism development around Tri An Lake, and the restoration of traditional craft villages and cultural villages. These efforts should adhere strictly to applicable regulations. Localities encountering difficulties during implementation must promptly report and consult with relevant departments and sectors to seek appropriate solutions.
