(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On February 7, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises and the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) held a ceremony to inaugurate and put into operation several sections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway Project. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang.
The delegates conducted the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open two sections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway Project.
During the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh officially announced the opening of two sections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, which include the section from the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway interchange to the National Highway 1 interchange, and the section from Phuoc An interchange to the National Highway 51 interchange.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, the temporary opening of these two sections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway marks an important milestone in efforts to resolve difficulties and obstacles related to mechanisms and policies, with hopes for a fruitful year in fulfilling VEC's political tasks and business operations. He also urged VEC, with the spirit of "overcoming sun and rain," "3 shifts, 4 teams," to continue overcoming all difficulties with great effort and high determination, striving to put the remaining sections of the eastern and western parts of the project into operation before April 30, aiming for the full opening of the expressway in 2026.
The section from Phuoc An interchange to National Highway 51 interchange of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway Project, which runs through the province, has been officially opened for operation.
According to a
representative from VEC, to meet the travel needs of residents during the Lunar
New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, VEC officially opened the two
aforementioned sections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway temporarily from
January 23, 2025. Initial assessments indicate that the opening of these two
sections has met the travel demands of residents and alleviated traffic
congestion on the local transportation routes. Once completed and fully
operational, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway will connect the transport of
the Southwestern region and the Southeast region, significantly relieving
traffic pressure in the area and playing a crucial role in promoting
socio-economic development in the Southern Key Economic Region, particularly in
the Southeast region.
