(News Portal – Dong Nai) - Recently, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung signed a decision approving the project "Training and Developing Local Human Resources for Long Thanh International Airport from 2024 to 2026, with a vision towards 2030" in the province.

The project aims to organize training and support job placement at the airport (both within and outside the airport) for approximately 4,800 local workers in Dong Nai by 2030, divided into two phases.
Specifically, in the 2024-2026 phase, the project aims to train, attract, and provide sufficient human resources for the professions and job positions directly serving the airport's operations, including specialized fields such as: airport management, aviation security, airport operations and maintenance, technical maintenance, and passenger support services. Priority will be given to workers from households affected by land acquisition for the Long Thanh Airport project, comprising three main labor groups. Group 1 includes: baggage and cargo handlers; aircraft cleaning staff. Group 2 includes: ground equipment operators. Group 3 includes: passenger service staff; loading and unloading coordinators; flight dispatchers; and cargo control staff.
The 2024-2026 phase will also integrate training for 1,600 individuals in professions related to the aviation sector (as proposed by Vietnam Airport Ground Services (VIAGS) and the Vietnam Airports Corporation) to ensure timely provision of human resources for the operational launch of Long Thanh Airport in 2026.
From 2027 to 2030, the project will organize training for 3,200 individuals (averaging 800 workers trained each year), including integrated training and attraction for 2,800 pre-trained individuals and orders for training 400 people in aviation-related professions to meet the human resource needs for Long Thanh Airport, following the three main labor groups mentioned above.
The project also aims to ensure a unified mechanism prioritizing the recruitment of local labor for employment at Long Thanh Airport (based on meeting recruitment standards in accordance with aviation regulations).
Beneficiaries of this project include workers, students who have graduated from secondary school or high school, who are in good health and suitable for the training professions (university, college, vocational training levels) according to the recruitment needs for service jobs both within and outside Long Thanh Airport, residing in households with permanent or legal temporary residence in Dong Nai province.
There are five areas of training for airport personnel, including: airport operations, air traffic management, air transport, aviation service provision, and airport administration.
Training areas for personnel serving outside the airport include: logistics services, restaurant services, hotel services, commerce, finance and banking, tourism and goods circulation; taxi services, etc.
The project also aims to develop a sustainable human resource training system. It plans to develop five vocational education institutions (colleges, vocational schools) through socialization initiatives and is expected to recruit an additional 144 teachers for vocational training, who will be trained and developed in accordance with established standards.
Simultaneously, vocational education institutions, professional universities, and regional practice centers will be developed to meet the training needs of personnel serving in and outside Long Thanh Airport; develop training programs in partnership with international organizations, collaborating with international airports to enhance training quality and provide practical internship opportunities for students.
From 2027 to 2030, the project will continue to build on the plan to attract and train human resources in Dong Nai for the period 2030-2035, with a vision towards 2040.
This includes developing policies to attract and train human resources in Dong Nai, creating job opportunities for local residents aimed at supporting the socio-economic development of the Southeast region, particularly for students from families affected by land acquisition for the project, and families from policy households, helping to mitigate the labor shortage for services within and outside Long Thanh Airport and ensuring sustainable socio-economic development in the province. Support policies for attracting labor from other areas include provisions for purchasing or renting social housing.
