(News Portal – Dong Nai) - As the Lunar New Year approaches, many workers are not only delighted with stable jobs and increased Tet bonuses but also receive meaningful gifts from their companies and trade unions.
The provincial Labor Union presents gifts to workers in need.
Warm Support for Workers
Ms. Hieu is one of 2,400 workers from the company living in boarding houses in Vinh Cuu District, Long Thanh District, and Bien Hoa City who received Tet gifts valued at 350,000 to 650,000 VND each. According to the company's trade union, this activity is aimed at expressing gratitude to union members and workers for their dedication over the past year. These gifts offer practical value, serving as encouragement and support for workers during the festive season.
Ms. Ha Thi Hieu, a worker at Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Vinh Cuu District), recently received a visit and gift from the trade union and company leaders at her boarding house. Ms. Hieu shared that after more than 13 years with the company, she feels at ease thanks to the company's welfare policies. She is particularly touched by the care and support from trade union officials and company leaders for workers with difficulties living in boarding houses. This gesture moved her deeply, especially with the approaching Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025. For her, although she will celebrate this New Year far from home, she still feels warm and supported.
Ms. Ho Thi Nguyet, working at Great Veca Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Trang Bom District), could not hide her joy when she received a Tet gift of essential goods after her shift. Ms. Nguyet stated that every year, as the Lunar New Year approaches, all workers in the company receive meaningful gifts from the trade union.
The provincial Labor Union noted that various levels of the union understand the difficulties and challenges faced by workers far from home and hope these Tet gifts will provide much-needed encouragement. The Labor Union urged grassroots unions to continue negotiating and proposing that employers fully implement benefits, especially wages and Tet bonuses for workers. Additionally, they are coordinating with businesses to organize appreciation activities to ensure union members have a fulfilling and complete Tet celebration.
At Lixil Global Manufacturing Vietnam Company Limited (Long Thanh District), the grassroots trade union prepared several attractive gifts for the year-end lucky draw program. Many workers in the company are eagerly counting down the days to receive their Tet bonuses and participate in the lucky draw. A representative from the company's trade union said that on January 11, the trade union and company would organize a year-end party with many meaningful activities for workers. Prior to this, the company had announced that it would maintain the same Tet bonus level as in previous years.
Diverse and Meaningful Activities
In addition to the gifts, many end-of-year lucky draw programs have been organized by grassroots unions in collaboration with businesses, bringing excitement to workers in production. Specifically, TKG Taekwang Vina JSC (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park) recently successfully organized a Lucky Draw Program, distributing hundreds of gifts to workers. Among the prizes were valuable items such as televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, and 50 prizes of 0.5 taels of gold. Additionally, over 1,000 cartons of milk were distributed to workers.
Feeling fortunate to win 0.5 taels of gold, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuyen shared that this year her family will celebrate the Lunar New Year more fully than in previous years because of the many gifts received from the company and trade union. She was thrilled to discover her name on the gold prize winner list.
“I am happy because this is not only a significant gift but also carries great meaning as the New Year approaches. In terms of essential goods, my family is also well-prepared for this holiday," Ms. Xuyen shared.
To care for workers, the trade union of TKG Taekwang Vina JSC recently opened the Union Tet Market, offering many Tet goods and products at discounted prices for workers to shop. The market will run for 10 days, from January 8 to 18. Additionally, the company distributed 3,000 gift packages provided by the provincial People's Committee to workers in difficult circumstances, each valued at 1 million VND. Previously, the union visited and gifted 7,000 workers facing hardships and provided gifts to all employees in the company.
Reports from various companies show that the working atmosphere among workers is vibrant and responsible, contributing to meeting order deadlines before the Tet holiday. Companies have also allocated significant welfare benefits to appreciate and support workers. These include recognizing outstanding workers, awarding commemorative medals for long-serving employees, and distributing gifts to workers.
According to the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, reports on Lunar New Year wages and bonuses for 2025 in the province indicate that over 2,000 companies employing more than 1.2 million workers have submitted reports. Of these, nearly 1,300 companies reported wages and 785 companies reported Tet bonuses. Most companies offer bonuses ranging from 1 to 1.5 months' salaries, a level that has not decreased compared to the previous year. Many companies have already announced Tet bonuses and holiday schedules, creating motivation for workers to feel secure in their production.
Additionally, based on the needs of union members and workers, unions at all levels are organizing bus trips to take union members and workers home for the holiday. Train and bus tickets have already been distributed to workers. According to the companies, these trips are not only for workers directly employed by the company but also for their families if needed. This ensures favorable conditions for workers to have a fulfilling and meaningful Tet holiday.
The provincial Labor Union leaders stated that alongside the province's efforts to care for workers during the Tet holiday, grassroots unions are organizing various activities to bring joy to workers. With the timely attention from unions and companies, the labor relations situation in the province remains stable.
