(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the morning of January 9, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, welcomed Mr. Park Sung Jin, Chief Representative of Gyeongnam Province's Office in Ho Chi Minh City, who visited and extended Lunar New Year greetings to the provincial leaders.

At the meeting, both parties discussed the results of past cooperation between Dong Nai and Gyeongnam provinces and outlined directions for collaboration in 2025 and beyond.
Currently, Dong Nai hosts investments from 46 countries and territories, with a total of 1,684 projects valued at $35.03 billion. Among these, 408 projects are from South Korean investors, with total capital reaching $7.3 billion, making South Korea the leading investor in terms of project numbers and total FDI investment in the province. Notable projects include those from Hyosung Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Hyosung Dong Nai; Posco VST Co., Ltd.; Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Hwaseung Vina Co., Ltd.; and TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company.
In terms of international cooperation, Dong Nai has actively expanded and established partnerships with South Korean localities and entities since 1996. To date, the province has signed 11 provincial-level Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and international agreements (including 7 initial agreements and 4 renewals), as well as 23 departmental, sectoral, and local-level MOUs and agreements with South Korean counterparts.
Dong Nai and Gyeongnam provinces have been partners since their first cooperation agreement in 1996. In 2024, the two localities engaged in vibrant exchange and collaboration activities, notably hosting a successful visit by the Governor of Gyeongnam in May 2024, during which a cooperation enhancement agreement was signed. Additionally, Dong Nai youth conducted a successful exchange visit to Gyeongnam in August 2024.

Mr. Park Sung Jin, Chief Representative of Gyeongnam Province's Office in Ho Chi Minh City, acknowledged the effective business operations of South Korean companies in Dong Nai, attributing their success to the province's support and attention. He expressed gratitude and hoped that provincial leaders would continue to facilitate favorable conditions for South Korean businesses and further promote cooperation between the two provinces. Mr. Park affirmed his commitment to serving as a positive bridge by introducing more South Korean businesses to invest in Dong Nai and fostering deeper collaboration between Dong Nai and Gyeongnam.
Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang expressed appreciation for the care and goodwill extended by Gyeongnam Province in general and Mr. Park Sung Jin in particular toward Dong Nai. She hoped Mr. Park would continue to strengthen the friendly cooperative relationship between the two provinces and introduce more South Korean businesses, organizations, and charitable activities to Dong Nai in the future.
