(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the morning of January 14, at the Provincial Party Committee's headquarters, Nguyen Hong Linh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, presided over a reception for a high-level delegation from Champasak Province, Laos. The delegation, led by Alounxay Sounnalath, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary, and Governor of Champasak Province, visited Dong Nai to extend Lunar New Year greetings. The Consul General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City also attended the event.

On the Dong Nai side,
attendees included Mr. Ho Thanh Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the
Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Duong Minh Dung, Vice Chairman of the
Provincial People's Committee; and leaders from various departments, agencies,
and provincial corporations.

During the meeting,
Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh expressed his delight in welcoming the high-level
delegation from Champasak Province to extend Lunar New Year greetings to the
Party, government, and people of Dong Nai Province. He also briefed the
delegation on Dong Nai’s socio-economic development over the past year. Dong
Nai has achieved national-level socio-economic milestones, particularly in
industrial development, with 33 established industrial parks spanning over
10,514 hectares and an additional 8,000 hectares being prepared for future
investments. The province has attracted investments from 46 countries and
territories, with approximately 1,700 projects totaling nearly USD 35 billion
in registered capital. State budget revenue in 2024 exceeded VND 62 trillion.

Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee.
Dong Nai is currently focusing on five strategic breakthroughs to further socio-economic development and contribute to the province's GRDP. These include: developing modern industries and supporting industrial services; establishing educational, training, and scientific research hubs for southeastern Vietnam; creating new urban, commercial, service, and entertainment complexes along rivers, mountains, and lakes; building an "airport city" centered around Long Thanh International Airport; enhancing transportation infrastructure, with a focus on constructing the Dong Nai Riverside Road.

Since 2011, Dong Nai has
established a cooperative friendship with Champasak Province. This relationship
has been nurtured through various initiatives outlined in a Memorandum of
Understanding, including delegation exchanges, human resource training, and
cultural events. From 2011 to date, Dong Nai has awarded scholarships to 161
students from Champasak Province, amounting to approximately VND 16 billion.
Currently, 42 students from Champasak are studying at universities and colleges
in Dong Nai. Additionally, the province has organized cultural exchanges and
traditional New Year gatherings for Lao and Cambodian students studying in Dong
Nai.

Mr. Alounxay Sounnalath extended his Lunar New Year greetings for the Year of the Snake to the Party, government, and people of Dong Nai. He also expressed gratitude for Dong Nai's invaluable support to Champasak Province in recent years. He shared updates on Champasak's socio-economic development, noting that despite challenges, the province has achieved significant progress by implementing the Party Congress resolutions. Key achievements include meeting or exceeding targets, maintaining political stability, and fostering trade with neighboring countries. Mr. Sounnalath invited Dong Nai enterprises to invest in Champasak and leverage Long Thanh International Airport to boost exports and agricultural trade from Champasak. Additionally, he extended an invitation to Dong Nai leaders to attend the Wat Phou Champasak Festival in February 2024.
On this occasion, Mr. Alounxay Sounnalath presented the First-Class Labor Medal of Laos to Mr. Ho Thanh Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, in recognition of his contributions to fostering solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between Dong Nai and Champasak provinces.
