(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On December 24, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc held a meeting to hear reports from departments, sectors, and localities regarding the implementation of the carbon reduction project in Dong Nai Province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050 (Net Zero Project).
Chairman Vo Tan Duc concluded the meeting on the implementation of the Net Zero Project.
According to the report from the Provincial People's Committee, in accordance with the direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Board on the carbon reduction program and the development of industrial park models and clusters according to Net Zero standards, the Provincial People's Committee has organized a green growth cooperation signing between the Provincial People's Committee and Saigon Telecommunication & Technologies Corporation. They have directed and assigned relevant departments to propose models for developing green industrial parks and clusters according to Net Zero standards for new industrial parks and clusters, which have been integrated into the provincial planning. Additionally, the province has established a Green Growth Steering Committee to research and propose tasks, directions, and solutions for green growth.
In February 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued the Net Zero Project with a 18-month implementation period, covering 7 sectors and priority fields, with 3 components. The project has assigned specific tasks to each department, sector, and locality and is currently implementing components 1 and 2.
After discussing with the departments, sectors, and localities, Chairman Vo Tan Duc stated that this meeting aims to evaluate the results achieved, difficulties and obstacles encountered, and proposals for the future.
The provincial leadership requested that the Office of the Provincial People's Committee coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue the operational regulations of the Dong Nai Provincial Green Growth Steering Committee. Departments, branches, and district-level People's Committees should continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee on effectively implementing programs and plans regarding green growth. They are also urged to actively cooperate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to accelerate the implementation of components 1 and 2.

The Department of Natural
Resources and Environment was tasked with swiftly finalizing the training plan
for the team of officials responsible for state management regarding green
transition. The People's Committees of Long Khanh City and Thong Nhat District
should review and determine the area, scale, location, and assess the
suitability of the planning for the specific industrial parks and clusters
chosen to concretize the green growth policy.
