of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc has tasked the Department of
Transport with leading and coordinating with relevant units to research and
call for investment in seaports and inland container depots (ICDs) in the
province according to the approved planning.
Phuoc An Port, the largest seaport in the province, is set to be put into operation soon.
In conjunction with this, the Department of Transport is also responsible for coming up with a project proposal for developing inland waterway transport in Dong Nai Province for the period 2025-2035. This plan aims to attract investors to participate and open additional ports to effectively exploit inland waterway transportation, thereby reducing congestion on currently overloaded roadways.
According to the planning, the province is set to have 42 seaports, 9 inland container depots, and 15 inland waterway routes with a total length of over 153 km. Currently, there are 21 operational seaports in the province, including 2 ports on the Dong Nai River; 12 ports on the Nha Be - Long Tau River; and 7 ports on the Thi Vai River. As for inland container depots, there are currently 2 operational ones: Tan Cang - Long Binh ICD and Tan Cang - Nhon Trach ICD
