Dong Nai Attracts FDI from Singapore

(News Portal – Dong Nai) - Since the beginning of the year, Singapore has led all countries and territories in foreign investment in Dong Nai's industrial parks with nearly 234 million USD, accounting for almost 35% of the total foreign investment projects in Dong Nai.

According to the Dong Nai Industrial Zone Authority, there are several notable projects from Singapore, including the SLP Park Loc An-Binh Son project in the Loc An-Binh Son Industrial Park, which has an investment of over 121 million USD; the Anctek Viet Nam factory project, belonging to Ningbo Dechang Electric Equipment Group, with a registered investment of 80 million USD, specializing in the production, processing, and assembly of household appliances and kitchen equipment at Giang Dien Industrial Park (Trang Bom District); and the Kinclean Viet Nam factory in the Long Thanh High-Tech Park, with a registered investment of 28.3 million USD. Additionally, the J&H Yubo Viet Nam Industrial Company project has a registered investment of 19 million USD for fabric production at Nhon Trach VI Industrial Park (Nhon Trach District).

With more than 110 investment projects in Dong Nai, totaling nearly 4 billion USD, Singapore ranks fifth in the number of projects and fourth in total foreign investment in Dong Nai.

At the beginning of 2024, Dong Nai issued investment certificates for four new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with a total registered investment of over 156 million USD. Among these, the SLP Park Loc An-Binh Son project in the Loc An-Binh Son Industrial Park (Long Thanh District) is associated with the multinational corporation Global Logistics Partner (GLP) from Singapore, which is a major player in real estate development and logistics. This project has the largest total investment of over 121 million USD.
Mr. Pang Te Cheng, the Consul General of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City, stated that Singapore and Viet Nam still have significant room for sustainable development cooperation. Currently, Singaporean businesses are very interested in and highly value the investment environment in Dong Nai. As a result, Dong Nai is now the province attracting the most investors from Singapore in the country. The Consul General noted that Singapore has many strengths and potential in areas such as education, information technology, and aviation. He expressed interest in several sectors in Dong Nai, including semiconductor manufacturing, digital economy, artificial intelligence, green economy, and food processing.

To fully leverage its development advantages and welcome enterprises from Singapore, Dong Nai is continually improving its investment environment.

Consul General Pang Te Cheng mentioned that Singaporean businesses are particularly interested in areas such as semiconductor manufacturing, digital economy, artificial intelligence, green economy, and food processing in Dong Nai. He remarked that Dong Nai and Singapore have much room for development, especially with the advantages presented by the Long Thanh International Airport project, which will create more opportunities for cooperation and economic development across various sectors.

During a meeting with Consul General Pang Te Cheng, Central Party Committee member and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh shared insights about Dong Nai's advantages and development strategies. According to Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh, Dong Nai possesses significant economic development potential across industrial, agricultural, and commercial sectors and is a crucial growth hub in southern Viet Nam. In the future, Dong Nai will continue to promote in-depth industrial development with high technological content and added value, integrating into global production chains to enhance its participation in the international market.​

The Secretary noted that when the Long Thanh Airport operates in 2026, it will significantly boost tourism and trade connections between Dong Nai and countries worldwide, positioning Dong Nai as a province with strong tourism capabilities. Additionally, Dong Nai has vast spaces for agricultural development in areas like Tan Phu, Dinh Quan, and Xuan Loc, which are ideal for cultivating fruit-bearing crops. Dong Nai also enjoys advantageous transportation conditions with several highways passing through and Phuoc An Port capable of accommodating 60,000-ton vessels. The province is eager to connect and collaborate in developing Dong Nai across various fields.
