(News Portal – Dong Nai) - The Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs has announced that from now until the end of the year, businesses and production facilities in the province are looking to recruit between 15,000 to 18,000 workers. Of that, unskilled labor accounts for 85%.

High-demand sectors include garment manufacturing, footwear, electronics, mechanics, insurance, and finance. Despite the large recruitment needs, a survey conducted by the department reveals that only 30% of the labor demand can be met, as relatively few workers from other provinces are coming to seek employment. Instead, most of the current workforce consists of employees shifting from one employer to another within the area.
To bridge the gap between labor supply and demand, the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs has instructed the Dong Nai Job Placement Center to expand job fairs, enabling both businesses and workers to participate. Additionally, the department is coordinating with employment service centers in other provinces, particularly in the Central Highlands and the Mekong Delta, to source labor. This initiative aims to support businesses in fulfilling their production orders by year-end. Notably, in the first nine months of 2024, 40,000 workers have already found employment.
