(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On February 20, the Ministry of Transport's Department of Construction Management and Quality of Transport Works had an online meeting with relevant agencies and the Provincial People's Committee on the progress of project implementation of component project 1 - building headquarters of state management agencies at Long Thanh International Airport. At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Management and Quality of Traffic Works Nguyen Bach Tung said that the progress of project component 1 includes the construction of Customs headquarters, border gate police stations, The local police station, health quarantine agency headquarters... are currently behind schedule. Meanwhile, the requirement is that these works must be completed before package 5.10 - construction and installation of passenger terminal equipment - is completed and put into operation.
Among the works under project component 1, the local police station and medical quarantine agency headquarters are under the implementation authority of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.
Reporting at the meeting, the head of the Department of Planning and Investment said that for the local police station construction project, the land handover and technical design have now been completed and are seeking opinions from the Department of Construction and Barracks Management (H02), Ministry of Public Security. This project's construction is expected to begin in June 2024.
As for the project to build the headquarters of the medical quarantine center, it is currently not included in the Government's decision to approve the investment project in the Long Thanh airport phase 1 project. However, the locality believes that this is an important step to serve the airport, so Dong Nai province will have a written proposal to add this project to the list of airport service projects. The province also requested ministries and departments to provide specific guidance because the total investment cost of works and headquarter projects of state management agencies is estimated to have exceeded the estimate in the approved feasibility study report.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Management and Quality of Traffic Works Nguyen Bach Tung requested units to draft a roadmap on detailed schedules, as well as propose solutions to difficulties and send them to the Ministry of Transport to summarize and report to the competent authorities.
