(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the afternoon of November 6, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh had a meeting and worked with the delegation of Montgomery County, State of Maryland (USA) and The Vietnamese American Business Council with Mr. Marc Erlich - County Executive of Montgomery County, Maryland. Attending the meeting were Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc and leaders of a number of related departments and divisions.

Nguyen Hong Linh informed the delegation about the socio-economic situation of
Dong Nai province. Accordingly, Dong Nai is the first province in the country
to have an industrial park since 1965 and currently ranks first in the country
in the number of industrial parks with 32 operating industrial parks,
attracting investors from 45 countries and territories with a total of 1,594
projects, total registered capital reaching 34.07 billion USD, of which, the
number of investment projects from US businesses is 30 projects with total
investment capital of over 268 million USD, mainly in the processing and
manufacturing industry...

Dong Nai province has a strategic location with
a synchronous infrastructure system, inter-regional transportation system, key
highways, seaport - river port system and logistic services that have been and
are being developed constantly, especially the Long Thanh International Airport
project, which is being constructed with an area of over 5,000 hectares,
expected to come into operation in 2025 with a service capacity of 125 million
passengers per year.

The province is changing its development model from rapid expansion to in-depth development, attracting high-tech investment projects, environmentally friendly projects, using technical labor with high intelligence content, minimizing labor... towards green growth and sustainable development. The Provincial Party Secretary emphasizes that in its development strategy, Dong Nai province is shifting from a labor-intensive economic model to a model with high intellectual content, not labor-intensive, adapting to green development. The province hopes to receive investment cooperation from US businessmen in Vietnam in general and Dong Nai in particular in order to train human resources, develop high-tech projects, and promote a sustainable economy.

Mr. Marc Erlich said, Montgomery county is the 3rd largest biotechnology hub in the United States, and is home to leading biotechnology companies. Montgomery also ranks 2nd in the United States in terms of number of PhDs, the most advanced medical facilities in the United States is also in Montgomery…. The purpose of this visit is to create connections, find partners, and establish bilateral cooperation between Dong Nai province and Montgomery county.

At the meeting, the two sides also exchanged and
discussed many important information about economic cooperation and sought
investment opportunities in many fields of interest to both sides. The group
also visited Bien Hoa II Industrial Zone and AMATA Industrial Park.
