On March 29, the Economic and Budget Board of the Provincial People's Council supervised 2 units including the Department of Transport and the Department of Planning and Investment on the results of the implementation of the road traffic planning of Dong Nai province to 2025 and the orientation to 2030 in the province.
Head of Economic and Budget Board of Provincial People's Council Nguyen Kim Phuoc delivered a speech at the conclusion of the monitoring session
The Department of Transport said that, according to Resolution No. 04/2021/NQ-HDND dated July 30, 2021 of the Provincial People's Council, in the period 2016-2020, there are 14 provincial roads to be upgraded, extended and added to the plan in the province. Of these, there are 3 roads that have been completed, handed over and put into operation with a total length of more than 35.4km and with total investment of more than VND 795 billion.
In the period of 2021-2025, there will be 18 provincial roads invested in upgrading and extending, adding 8 provincial roads to the planning in the province. There is currently 1 route completed and put into operation.
However, the implementation of the planning of transport routes in the province has faced many difficulties in recent years, especially in terms of funding sources for projects, site clearance, project management capacity from investors…
Speaking at the conclusion of the monitoring session, Head of the Economic and Budget Board of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Kim Phuoc said that, the province had had a focus and a strategic vision to invest in roads in the province through the traffic planning. Although the completion rate of provincial roads was still low, the completion rate of roads in districts and communes was high, thereby meeting the development needs of the province. In particular, the most outstanding result was that Dong Nai had completed the construction of a new rural area according to traffic criteria.
The monitoring team also recommended that departments and branches continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to continue the implementing of the resolution on traffic planning in the province according to the proposed program, and plan. The implementation process should soon supplement and adjust the planning to have a transport infrastructure system to meet the requirements of general economic and social development, connecting localities and connecting regions.
