Propagating the Central Resolution No 4: Promote the role of press agencies

​On the morning of June 20th, the Propaganda Department of Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Press Association held a political meeting for their cadres and members with the topic: “With responsibilities, intellectuality and ethics of a journalist, press agencies have to know what and how to well perform Plan 69 of the Party Committee’s Central Resolution No 4 (term XI) “Some current urgent issues in Party building”


At the meeting, there were a lot of ideas from the provincial press association members in order to offer suggestions to the provincial Party building.

* Propagation boost

Talking with the journalists of what and how to contribute to the provincial Party building, reporter Ngoc Due – Breaking News Manager of Dong Nai Radio and Television said, the Breaking News Department planned to create forums to spread more news and articles reflecting the Party construction progress, seek for people and senior officers’ opinions to get suggestions for the Party construction and regulation progress. Propagating the Central Resolution No 4 would focus on reflecting and appraising the good, also directly fight against the bad remaining within the Party in order to enormously strengthen the Party.

In the meantime, reporter Phan Thi Kim Tuoc – Vice President of the Provincial Press Association said that in effort to effectively perform the Central Resolution No. 4, press agencies should focus more on propagating the significance of the Resolution for all classes of people in the province. The motto and target of the propagation about the Party reinforcement is to directly reflect truth, to give objective assessments without yielding or avoiding.
 
Reporter Dinh Dung, in charge of the Reader Segment (Dong Nai Newspaper) confirmed: “In the course of time, Dong Nai press in general and Dong Nai Newspaper in particular have been sticking closely to its own principles and purposes, which include following up orientation set out by authorities, management departments; addressing hot issues without exaggerating the truth. Reporters from Dong Nai Press have always been dedicated and responsible with their job. Regardless of all the hardship and danger, they even cross the jungles to the most remote areas in order to best reflect every single corners of life. However, we are by no means satisfied with what we have done. There have been many opinions and issues raised by readers which went unanswered. In the coming days, Dong Nai Newspaper needs to improve not only its content but also its look; opening new forums, increasing the number of pages in order to expand its readership and for the readers to contribute their ideas.
 
Reporter Duc Viet (Dong Nai Newspaper) suggested that the province shouldcreate better conditions for correspondents to access different sources of information so that they can reflect the issues most truthfully. In case of mistakes caused by officials, party leaders, they should be addressed with the objective point of view. Offenders should be named to set examples.
 
* Newspaper maker ego boost
 
Mr Huynh Kim Ngoc, Vice Director of Dong Nai Broadcasting Telecommunications Station claimed that in order to carry out Plan 69 of the Party Committee’s Central Resolution No.4 on “ Some current urgent issues of building the Party”, the Press agencies will have to summon as many correspondents teams as possible for the propagation mission. Those correspondents who are not Party members yet should be made well aware of the importance and the impact of the Central resolution No.4 on the Party existence. On the other hands, within the range of Party members, Press agencies’ correspondents, there should be an encouragement in criticism and self-criticism to avoid unwanted shortcomings.

At the meeting with the Provincial Executive Committee of Press Association, leaders of newspaper and radio agencies with target of completely implementing the Resolution 69 of the provincial Party, Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh, member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee insisted: local agencies and units have to create favorable conditions for provincial newspaper agencies to do their job. All obstacles in their reporting process may reflect the Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Standing Committee and even comrade Secretary of Provincial Party Committee in a direct way.
Correspondent Tien Khang (Tan Phu District Broadcast Station) suggested that the Province Press Association organized writing training courses on the subjects of Party building and spread the words of the Central resolution No. 4 to correspondents members of ward’s, district’s broadcast stations. Those will create powerful propagating potential if they are equipped with relevant skills and knowledge.
 
Reporter Tran Huy Thanh, Dong Nai newspaper’s Chief Editor claimed that: Each newspaper-maker, especially those young correspondents need to boost their political ego and ideological beliefs. Young reporters should avoid any tendency to stray into sensational pieces of news which are only meant to lure the readers. They should also be careful with the information sources for fear of being taken advantage to cause internal division within the Party only for the sake of one’s benefits. Reporter Tran Huy Thanh also noted that with a view to effectively and occasionally promoting the Central resolution No.4, Dong Nai newspaper has increased print density of news in the Party Building segment. Meanwhile, Dong Nai E-newspaper has also opened a separate category for this resolution.
 
* Correspondent Le Quyen (Economy segment, Dong Nai newspaper): I myself am continuing with my thorough study of the Central resolution No.4 contents, especially those mentioning about building infrastructure. I would apply them into the actual local situation in order to track down the disadvantages faced during the process of infrastructure development.
 
* Correspondent Hien Vuong (Dong Nai Broadcast & Telecommunications Station): Through broadcast programs, I hope more and more good examples of good people doing good deeds will be set, especially the examples of leaders who set their hearts on other people’s benefits, or those who have achieved their status for staying clean and stable for many years.
 
* Correspondent Nguyen Tuyet (Culture-Society Segment – Dong Nai newspaper): Being a correspondent writing about the Youth Union segment, I hope to find many examples of outstanding young adolescent in study and work, who express their desire to be a Party member. Articles posted on newspaper would help orientate a fine and idealistic way of living and turn this into a motivation to become a Party member.
