Thong Nhat Women’s Association: 6 out of 8 Contents Are Met and Exceeds Targets Set in Resolution

The Congress was attended by 120 representative delegates for 32,425 members throughout the district.

In its previous term, levels of Women's Association in the district stuck to the Party's targets and resolutions and Dong Nai Women’s Association’s resolutions, applying these targets and resolutions creatively and associating them with the reality in each locality for the purpose of implementing movements and accomplishing key tasks.

The Association’s operations and operational method are increasingly improved.

The Association plays a good role as a representative to protect classes of women’s legitimate rights and interests in the district.

The Association’s staff shows enthusiasm and creativeness, not being afraid of difficulties in building many new models, strengthening the Association in both both quantity and quality.

There are 11 grassroots women’s associations, 52 detachments, and 588 groups with 32,425 members out of 47,350 women with the age over 18.

The membership rate accounts for 68.5 percent.

There are 17,925 core members, accounting for 55.3 percent.

The report that summarizes the Association’s operations and women's movements in the district shows that 6 out of 8 contents are fulfilled and exceed targets set in the Resolution.

The highlighted movement is “Women study, work, be creative, and build a happy family”.

Young mothers are provided with knowledge and skills concerning building family life and how to bring up and teach children and young men get pre-marriage education. Poor households whose owners are females are help through poverty.

Thong Nhat Women’s Association’s Congress

Based on the past-term achievements, the Congress set directions and targets in 2011-2016 period with the aim of making a stronger Association, protecting all classes of women’s legitimate rights and benefits, providing a better care for women’s spiritual and materialistic life, promoting women’s roles and abilities in the process of socio-economic development and of implementation of gender equality.

It is necessary to strive for 80 percent of women admitted to the Association, for 85 percent of poor households whose owners are females to accesss hunger elimination and poverty reduction programs, and for 100 percent of grassroots associations as strong and pretty strong ones.

Congress elected the Executive Committee of the 2nd Women's Association in 2011-2016 period, which is composed of 26 members and 16 others to attend the Provincial Congress of levels of Women’s Association in the coming time.
