National Census of Population and Housing to be Conducted on April 1, 2009

The census will focus on nine fundamentals: population categorized in genders, ages, ethnic groups, religions, rural and urban areas; migration; educational background; handicapped fact, labor and employment; marital status; ratio of birth and death and population growth; housing circumstance; and basic domestic conveniences of the population.

    The census will aim to collect fundamental factual figures on population and housing serving as a base for macro administration of the State, Party, Sectors and local authorities; as well as provide population and housing data for administrative units in communes, wards and towns; add the figures to regular censuses; and bring census forms and database for research and reports on population and housing within ten past years.

    The census is going to start at 7.00 on April 1, 2009 and plans to end up at latest on April 20, 2009.
