Many Activities Held to Celebrate the 121st Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19,1890 – May 19, 2011)

More than 150 youth union members from Bien Hoa Municipal Police attended the talk.

After hearing the talk concerning President Ho Chi Minh’s efforts and tremendous dedication to the Vietnam revolution, the youth union members from Bien Hoa Police became well aware of his great contributions and promised to spend their young ages preserving political security and local order and safety.

Houses of compassion are given to the poor in Xuan Tam commune

May 14 through 16, Xuan Tam commune in Xuan Loc district cooperated with Regiment 3 and National Shooting School in Area 3 in launching a campaign to get people mobilization work done, and to obtain achievements with the aim of marking the 121st Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and of welcoming the election of 13th National Assembly and of levels of People’s Council in 2011-2016 period.

Through this campaign, local authorities called for agencies and businesses to make donations towards the building of houses of compassion, taking care of the families who are government policy beneficiaries and of poor households, and learning and talent promotion programs.

Particularly, officers and soldiers from two regional army units collaborated with local authorities in building rural roads, clearing bushes away, doing the clean-up along Highway 1A, along roads leading to residential areas, and in voting locations as well.

On this occasion, Xuan Tam commune held the ground-breaking ceremony for the building of three classrooms on Bang Lang hill, having hamlet 4 road asphalted, having stones placed for the building of ten houses of compassion and of one house for a revolutionary comrade, offering the district’s support fund to poor students, and two bicycles and 1,000 notebooks to poor students, and providing free check-ups for government policy beneficiaries, and needy households.

May 16, Xuan Loc Fatherland Front Committee and Xuan Tam Communal People’s Committee celebrated a ceremony to offer a house of compassion to the family of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cuong living in hamlet 2.

The house with brick and painted walls, an enameled brick floor and a tiled roof worth VND40 million (or US$1909.96) is built on an area of 48.2 square meters.

The second house was given to the family of Mr Nguyen Xuan Tien, who is an old poor patient living in hamlet 5.

The house with concrete walls, a tiled roof, and a concrete floor worth VND22 million (or US$1050.48) is built on an area of 32.2 square meters,.
