Dong Nai and Gyeongsangnam-Do Province solemnly organized the Anniversary of 10-year signing of co-operative friendly relations.

On the Dong Nai’s side, the anniversary was attended by Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vo Van Mot, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Hong Phuong – Standing Vice Secretary of Party Committee, member of Standing Committee Dang Thi Kim Nguyen - Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of Povincial Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front Duong Minh Nga and representatives from relevant branches and services.

The co-operative friendly relations between Dong Nai and Gyeongsangnam-Do were established this day 10 years ago. Since then, the relations have developed in such fields as Economy, Investment, Trade, Technical Science, Culture, Arts, Sports etc Particulary in direct foreign investment over the province, there have been 148 investment projects of Korean enterprises totalling USD 1,3 billion, being the second largest investors of 32 countries investing in Dong Nai.

Addressing at the anniversary, Chairman of the People’s Committee Vo Van Mot said: “the establishment of the cooperative relations between the two provinces is based on their similar traditional cultures. Presently, the relations between Vietnam and Korea are strategic in the 21^st century, which will enhance the co-operative relations between the two provinces.

Governor Kim Taeho quoted the Korean proverb: “friendship in 10 year can be said to be well-established”. He said: “10 years is not purely a number but it is the time when a number of relations were founded upon belief of and trust in each other. 760 Korean enterprises invested in Vietnam with the capital of over USD 5 billion 600 million, particulary in Dong Nai with the total capital of over USD 1,3 billion for 119 projects given license. Such enterprises as Chang Shin, Teakwang, Hwaseung Vina are familiar to Dong Nai people. Moreover, many Korean actors and actresses have won Vietnamese viewer’s support.

The Agreement entitiled “fostering the co-operative relations” between the 2 provinces was signed by the 2 province leaders. The 2 sides will able to exploit and improve such strong filelds of Gyeongsangnam-Do as shipbuilding industry, car assembly, industrial equipment and iron and steel.

In response to the interview of journalists from Dong Nai Radio Television Station on the cooperation among news agencies of the two provinces, Governor acknowledged that:

“I’m very sorry for having not paid much attention to this matter but I will try to create favorable conditions for news agencies of two provinces to communicate and learn from each other in the coming time.”

The painting exhibition of the relations between Dong Nai and Gyeongsangnam-Do was also opened in the 10^th anniversary. Governor and members of the delegation went on a tour of the exhibition and the showroom of the provincial museum. The delegates planted a tree at the provincial square to commemorate the Anniversary of 10-year cooperation between the 2 provinces.

On the same morning, before leaving Dong Nai for Ho Chi Minh City, Governor and members of the delegations visited Teakwang Vina Company. Director General introduced the ebstalishment and development process of the company; the achivements of 11 years’ investment and the plan to expand the scale production in 2006.
