​To promote the development of the digital economy, the province has also issued policies to encourage and support. Not out of the general trend, many businesses have begun to change their thinking and strategies, creating favorable conditions for the development of enterprises in this field.

Enterprises learn the digital transformation technology

The level of digitization of businesses is low

Currently, the province has 1,142 digital technology enterprises (according to statistics of the Ministry of Information and Communications). The ratio of digital technology enterprises to the province's population is at a very low level (0.359/1 thousand people compared to 0.5/1 thousand people of the whole country). Besides, according to the evaluation results of the Digital Transformation Index (DTI) of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies of provinces and cities, DTI Dong Nai is ranked 20/63. In which, the digital economy ranked 29th, the value of the digital economy pillar is average.

To improve the DTI index in the area, the province focuses on gradually developing 4 types of digital technology enterprises. Specifically, the first is that large commercial and service enterprises in the socio-economic fields shift their activities to the field of digital technology and invest in the key technologies. Second, the group of information technology enterprises has affirmed its brand, pioneered in digital technology research and development, and took the initiative in production. The third is the group of startups that apply digital technology to create new products, goods, and services, and finally, the group of innovative and creative startups in digital technology.

In particular, it is necessary to focus on attracting large projects of strategic investors, multinational corporations to locate their headquarters and establish agencies, research and development (R&D) centers and innovation centers, center of innovation in Dong Nai associated with the construction and operation of Long Thanh International Airport.

As an experienced expert in supporting businesses to promote the application of digital technology, Mr. Phi Anh Tuan, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association said that Dong Nai is one of the localities with a large business community and is continuing to get a raise. This is a great potential for the development of digital technology and application of technology in production and business. The important issue is how to make businesses aware of the development trend, must start from a change of mindset.

Promoting the development of digital technology enterprises

To promote the digitalization of the economy, Dong Nai aims to be in the top 10 in terms of digital transformation in the country. Over the past time, the province has taken steps in digital transformation in most fields from state management to production and business of enterprises. Departments, branches and localities apply information technology to management and handling of administrative procedures to simplify, shorten time and costs for people and businesses.

On June 10, the Provincial People's Committee continued to issue the Dong Nai Provincial Digital Enterprise Development Plan for the period of 2022-2025 and orientation to 2030. Accordingly, the overall goal is to create favorable conditions for enterprises to apply. Using the results of the industrial revolution 4.0 into production and business, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

The specific goal is to strive that by 2025, Dong Nai will have at least 5 newly established digital technology enterprises, 10 enterprises converting to digital technology in all fields. By 2030, there will be at least 8 newly established digital technology enterprises and 350 enterprises converting to digital technology. In which, there are many enterprises producing Vietnamese-brand digital technology products, producing key technologies.
