At
the conference, leaders of the Department of Health on behalf of the Provincial
People's Committee reported on the prevention and control of the Covid-19
epidemic in the past 2 years.
According
to a report by the Provincial People's Committee, over the past 2 years since
the first cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Vietnam, Dong Nai Province has
experienced 4 outbreaks with many complicated developments.

In
the period from the 1st to the 3rd outbreak in Dong Nai Province, only 22 cases
of infection were recorded, of which 19 were imported cases and were quarantined immediately upon entry; Only 3 cases were recorded in the community due to
the infected person moving back from the epidemic area, however, these cases
were quickly isolated, traced and handled quickly, no secondary infections were
recorded.
The
fourth phase of the outbreak began on April 27, 2021 and lasts until today, this is the longest and most complicated phase of the epidemic. At the
peak of the epidemic, the number of new cases in the province reached 1,100
cases per day.
Over
the past two years, Dong Nai Province has had nearly 419,500 Covid-19 cases and
cured more than 417,400 Covid-19 patients (accounting for 99.52% of the total
number of infections), including more than 380,800 patients isolated and
treated at home, over 36,600 patients were treated at district and provincial health
facilities; recorded 1,963 deaths (accounting for 0.47% lower than the
mortality rate of the whole country and neighboring provinces).
Since
August 5, 2021, there have been 13 medical manpower delegations mobilized by
the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of National Defense and the provinces to
support epidemic prevention and control in Dong Nai Province with 954 people.
The Ministry of Health has established and sent medical staff to perform the
tasks at the COVID-19 Intensive Care Center under the Central Lung Hospital,
Dong Nai Province with 211 people.

Regarding
vaccination, up to now, the whole province has successfully deployed 40 rounds
of vaccination, administering a total of 7.5 million doses of vaccine to people
aged 5 years and older, including over 3.1 million doses of the first injection,
nearly 3 million doses of the second injection, and more than 1.5 million doses
of third injection.
During
the two years of epidemic prevention and control, on the basis of the actual
developments of the epidemic situation in the province through stages, the Provincial
Steering Committee flexibly applied the instructions of the National Steering
Committee issued many important, decisive guiding documents and set out
anti-epidemic principles such as "prevent - detect - isolate - thoroughly
localize - fight the epidemic and treat effectively"; then redirected to
"safely adapting, flexibly, effectively controlling the COVID-19
epidemic".
The
report of the Provincial People's Committee has also drawn lessons learned such
as: Focused, synchronous, unified, transparent and consistent leadership and
direction from the central to local levels; early, proactive and especially
consistent with the proposed anti-epidemic measures; the motto "four on
the spot"; following up the reality, firmly recognize the situation, well
forecasting; transparency in providing extensive information and communication;
mobilizing the strength of national unity; mobilizing the total strength of the
health sector; ensuring both effective anti-epidemic and economic development;
ensuring social security work for people in epidemic areas, especially in areas
where isolation and blockade are being implemented.

the coming direction, continue to promote vaccination, ensure vaccination
schedule; increase mobilization of people to vaccinate; continue to implement
synchronously and effectively policies on security, social order and safety,
social security; update and develop a response and prevention plan for the
COVID-19 epidemic to move towards ending the emergency phase of the pandemic
under 3 scenarios in line with the guidance of the World Health Organization;
promote propaganda on disease prevention and control; raise personal awareness
in proactively and voluntarily taking measures to prevent and control the
epidemic.
At
the conference, the delegates also said that it is necessary to have a thorough
assessment of many issues in the recent process of fighting the Covid-19
epidemic in the province.

at the meeting, Mr. Cao Tien Dung, Chairman of the Provincial People's
Committee said that there has never been a total mobilization to fight the
epidemic like the past time, so many issues need to be drawn from experience,
such as: significant experience in the leadership; experience in coordination
between Dong Nai Province and surrounding provinces; The problem of accommodation
for worker has led to difficulties in fighting the epidemic.

the conference, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Secretary of the Provincial Party
Committee requested the Office of the Provincial Party Committee to complete
the report for the Steering Committee. The report should clarify what has been
achieved and what has not been achieved. “How should the health sector redefine
the anti-epidemic approach to recommend to the people; Continuing to apply
information technology, the issues that are beneficial to the long-term development
should be done continuously. Regarding vaccines, continue to recommend people
to inject and improve the capacity of grassroots health care to serve people's
lives." Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized.

review of the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic in the province
to draw the very important lessons
from the recent epidemic. For example, the lesson on leadership is a very
profound lesson; lesson on propaganda work; lessons on welfare policy; Lessons
from both fighting the epidemic and implementing economic development.
